These are truly the simplest little things to make and they go down an absolute treat at this time of year.
I love to make them with peppermint flavoured , green buttercream and a chocolate flavoured cake and chocolate buttercream layer on which to put down my chocolate flake 'soil.'
That way, when you open them up you get a wonderful chocolate, peppermint aroma that will certainly do away with any of that 'Oh, they look too good to eat! nonsense.
So have fun and the only thing to remember with these is not to make them too tall or you won't be able to shut the lid on your cupcake box! (Here speaks the voice of repeated experience ;-)
